Vidalia’s in Beverly Farms is our favorite destination for fresh produce, baked goods, coffee, sandwiches, cheese, and more. Vidalia’s is owned by Marylyn Donati and her daughter Erica. She and her two daughters also own the Willow Rest Restaurant in Gloucester and the Farm Stand on 133 in Manchester. They are all terrific spots full of organic produce and much more. Willow Rest Restaurant in Gloucester (near Annisquam) has fantastic eat in or take out breakfast and lunch as well as an upscale, mostly organic market. The Farm Stand, located on Route 133 in Manchester has produce from the families’ Utopia Farms in Wenham and elsewhere, local flowers, pumpkins in the fall and greens and Christmas trees from Thanksgiving though December. These ladies are working really hard and it shows.
Anyway, back to Vidalia’s.
Here’s what we L-O-V-E…
5. The incredible selection of artisanal cheeses (the samples!!!)
6. The sandwiches… some of our favorites include the Caprese, the BLT because you don’t have to ask for mayo (they just know that’s the right thing to do), and the chicken salad.
So if you are headed up to the North Shore and your travels take you through the charming town of Beverly Farms, please stop at Vidalia’s. Other highlights in Beverly Farms include: The Book Shop of Beverly Farms – yes, a real bookstore also full of really nice and helpful people, Glee for the fashion forward, Wild Oats Health Food, two nice restaurants – Cignet and Hale Street Tavern and Cha Cha La Mer (another high quality take out prepared food spot). Come to think of it, Beverly Farms is a foodies’ paradise!
